Peanuts... peanuts please......... :)Image by Gattou - Away behind... via Flickr
Just cause it made me smile.
You caught me.  I've been absent for quite some time from this blog (okay, only two weeks, but that's, like, two years in blogworld).  I'm in a cocoon...a cocoon of processing, digging, and healing.  It's hard work and it's not fun, but I know the end result will be worth it.

I don't know how consistent of a blogger I'll be in the coming months.  I've decided to go a little easier on myself and not set a bunch of goals, but take each day at a time and do the work that is set before me for that day.

I have been accumulating some Friday Fun things to share with you, which I plan on doing this week, but it might be on a day other than Friday because...Friday...I'll be at the zoo...with...

MY BROOOOTTTHHHHHEEEEER!!!!!!  I can hardly contain my excitement over the fact that a member of my family is visiting me all the way over here...and the fact that we get along really well and he and Daniel are buddies.  It's going to be good.  I can't wait.

Until then, though, I keep getting sick.  So, I'll continue to hydrate with water and o.j. and eat crystallized ginger ('cause everything else doesn't taste right) and know that in order for me to really truly finally get the rest of my hormone problems under control, I need to go through the final step of consistently eating right and consistently exercising (something I have always struggled with.  Food is so good.  And exercising feels like so much effort).  Anyway, I'm approaching this only for health reasons and not because I want to lose weight or look different.  I'm using Spark People as a tool for recipes and motivation, but I'm not going to set 10,000 goals.  I'm setting one goal: to exercise every day.  That's it.  I will build from there.  One step at a time.

What have y'all been up to?  What do you do when you're in a cocoon of painful growth?

  1. So excited for you that your brother will be coming to visit! I know what it's like waiting and waiting for family or friends to come visit! You will have a wonderful time! :-)
If I was there I would exercise with you. Why does exercising have to be such a huge effort? It's always easier with company.
    BTW, love the squirrel picture!

  2. I'm excited, too! It's going to be great.

I would LOVE an exercise buddy! Definitely easier (and more consistent) with company. I would totally take you up on that if you lived here!

You had some pretty great squirrel photos, if I remember correctly. And I'm so enjoying the updates on the baby robins living in your yard! So cool!
