Organisation and baby feet

I don't know about some of you other bloggers, but I always feel like I must have a theme for each blog: A lesson or a provoking thought, or a fun idea.  However, since I haven't come up with anything new in that regard lately, I'm just going to write.  Okay?  Okay.

I realised something the other night.  I used to be someone that organised everything.  I've tried to be different than that over the last few years, though, in an attempt to scale back and relax a bit (which has been a really good experience for me).  However, now that we finally have a home that we want to settle into (which hasn't happened in our 3 years of marriage until now), I realise that I like organisation.  And nothing is organised.  Yet.  So, I have started asking my super organised friends for advice and thinking about where to start in the whole process.  I am really looking forward to getting the house in order and knowing how much better it will feel to both Daniel and myself when it's all finished.  I thought about taking before and after photos and sharing some of what I've done along the way.  Would that be of interest to any of you?

Oh, Friends, we can believe in His promises.  Did you know that?  I thought I did, but He has shown me in a whole new way that He can be trusted, that He wants me in His kingdom, and that He wants me to share with Him and not hide (or attempt to hide--we can't really hide from Him, you know).  And, looking back over the past few years, from when I first realised that I was verbally/emotionally abused, I can see how the Lord has gently, sweetly, patiently broken down my walls.  He has patiently changed my view on Him as my Father and shown me that He has been my perfect Father.  He has graciously shown me that He will not give up on me, that He will provide for our needs, and now that He can be trusted.  We can trust in His intentions toward us.  He wants good for us.

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.  Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.  I will be found by you,' declares the LORD, 'and will bring you back from captivity.'"

Oh yes, I have to share with you how much Pinterest has become an obsessive distraction for me.  A few weeks ago, I read two different blogs in the same week that talked about how awesome Pinterest is, and I thought...huh...maybe I'll try it.  I fell in love.  Christmas ideas, recipes, crafts, beautiful photos, comics, outfits--you name it, you can probably find it on pinterest.  The only thing I will say is that some people do not follow the no nudity rule and post things that end up on the discussions board.  I often just look away and report it asap, but I will caution you all to be careful of that.  I find it repulsive and frustrating, but I try to look at the positive.  Like this cute photo.  Who doesn't love baby feet?  Baby feet make my heart sigh and want to squeal.  Oh, babies.

And I'll leave it on that beautifully sweet note.

Love,

  1. I'd love to see pictures of your progress with organization. I like to be clean but sometimes I fail at organizing things. Have you seen this blog? http://iheartorganizing.blogspot.com/ It might just inspire you! Can't wait to see what you do!

Oh, and to be honest I was hoping for a baby feet announcement if you know what I mean! ;)
